How can Cosmetic Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation Improve Skin

Acupuncture Facelifts

Cosmetic Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation, Facial Acupuncture, or “Acupuncture Facelifts” as it is sometimes called, revitalizes and brings a healthier glow to the skin. It is an effective way to remove fine lines and soften wrinkles on the face.

More people are looking to acupuncture in combination with anti aging herbal remedies instead of surgery, Botox, laser and chemical peels, since it’s free of any negative side effects! It is non-invasive, toxin-free, and naturally reduces the signs of aging by revitalizing the skin and bringing a more youthful look to the face!

In 2004, Dr. Maryam was one of the first practitioners in the lower mainland to be trained as a specialist in cosmetic acupuncture.

How Cosmetic Acupuncture Works

The insertion of tiny hair-thin needles into specific acupuncture points in the facial tissue allows your body to naturally increase blood circulation to the area and stimulates collagen and elastin production. The skin will be nourished, oxygenated, and moisturized from the inside out. The improved blood flow, collagen and elastin production will allow for more tightness and elasticity helping to fill out the fine lines and lift and firm the skin.

There will also be acupuncture points on the body (typically on the arms and legs) which will address any underlying health issue. Very often this includes stress, overwhelm, anxiety, tension or pain, digestive complaints or hormonal issues. When the whole body is treated, this has an exceptional effect on healthier and more radiant skin.

The Cosmetic acupuncture treatments are customized to the individual, just like regular acupuncture treatments. This means that Dr. Maryam will assess your constitution, health history and personal goals and treat you accordingly.

Facial Gua Sha massage

Dr. Maryam follows each cosmetic acupuncture treatment with facial gua sha massage. This involves using a Jade Stone to further enhance blood flow, lymph flow, reduce puffiness, and relieve muscle tension.

Is Cosmetic Acupuncture covered by Insurance?

Yes!!! Cosmetic acupuncture, because it treats your overall health and wellness, is covered under most extended health insurance plans. Please look into your individual plan details.

How many cosmetic acupuncture treatments will I need?

A typical series of cosmetic acupuncture is ten to twelve treatments. This can be done twice per week (if your schedule allows) or once per week. A series will give you better and lasting results than just having one treatment. Acupuncture is a cumulative process which means that the treatments build on each other for better and better results.

Can I get cosmetic acupuncture if I have had fillers or botox?

Yes. It is no problem to get cosmetic acupuncture if you have had these procedures. However, I recommend waiting at least one month after your procedure (s) to get acupuncture.

How much does Cosmetic Acupuncture cost?

Each cosmetic acupuncture treatment is $130 and this includes the initial assessment and facial gua sha.

Dr. Maryam provides a ten treatment pre-paid package where you can get a reduced rate per treatment of $120. This package is “insurance friendly” meaning you can still receive a paid receipt each time you come in to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Are there any side-effects to Cosmetic Acupuncture?

There are no “side effects” other than the slight risk of minimal bruising but this is rare. Cosmetic acupuncture is safe, very gentle and does not require any down time.
