Welcome aboard! I’m excited to be a part of your journey to wellness and healing! Here’s a little bit of information before coming to your first appointment to get you feeling more familiar and comfortable (especially if acupuncture is something entirely new for you).
I’m currently working out of my home clinic. Please come into the clinic through the front entrance of the house. I’ll greet you and take you into a comfortable treatment room and you can take a few minutes to fill out the paperwork. The first visit is an opportunity for us to get acquainted. I’ll ask many health-related questions, inspect your tongue, and take your pulse. Whether you’re completely new to acupuncture or have had much experience in the past, this is a chance for you to ask questions about what you can expect. We’ll talk about your Chinese medical diagnosis and what kinds of treatment modalities will be best for you.
Acupuncture: Following the consultation, acupuncture will be administered (if recommended) and takes approximately 45 minutes. You don’t have to wear any special clothing. You’ll get changed in private and you’ll be covered throughout your treatment. Please have a light snack before coming to your appointment.
Herbal medicine: Herbal medicine may be recommended for you. If so, you can receive the medicine on your first visit. A herbal formula is a blend of herbs customized for you and may consist of up to fifteen herbal ingredients. The herbs are given either in concentrated granules or in pill form to maximize convenience. All of the herbal medicine come from reliable well trusted companies which have high levels of quality control.
Payment options: An invoice is issued to you at the end of your treatment. You may choose to pay by cash, cheque, or electronic transfer. I don’t accept credit cards (sorry for the inconvenience). If you have extended health insurance, you may submit your paid invoice to your insurance company and they’ll reimburse you directly. Please check ahead of time to see if you have coverage for acupuncture.
